Flood Advisory issued June 11 at 8:32AM CDT until June 11 at 10:30AM CDT by NWS San Angelo TX * WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...A portion of west central Texas, including the following counties, Callahan, Fisher, Jones, Nolan, Shackelford, Taylor and Throckmorton. * WHEN...Until 1030 AM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 830 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms...from Woodson to Albany to Abilene to Buffalo Gap...moving east at 30 mph. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 1.5 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Abilene, Sweetwater, Clyde, Stamford, Anson, Hamlin, Albany, Baird, Roscoe, Throckmorton, Blackwell, Nolan, Merkel, Rotan, Tye, Cross Plains, Tuscola, Roby, Hawley and Buffalo Gap. - This includes Interstate 20 between Mile Markers 230 and 323. This includes the following Low Water Crossings... Butternut Underpass, Intersections along Sammons Street, I-20 Frontage Roads near Baird, Intersections along Buttonwillow Parkway, SH 70 crossing The Draw Southeast of Rotan, Curry Lane from Clack Street to Catclaw Drive, US 180 crossing 7 miles west of Roby, I-20 Frontage Roads west of Clyde, I-20 Frontage Roads near Putnam and Texas Avenue at Arnold Boulevard. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
