Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Scattered slow moving thunderstorms and locally heavy downpours will develop this afternoon and linger into this evening. Central Elk County in north central Pennsylvania... * Until 915 PM EDT. * At 613 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Up to 1 inch of rain has fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... St. Marys, Ridgway, Johnsonburg, Wilcox, Brandy Camp, Portland Mills, Brockport, East Branch Dam and Kersey. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include... St. Marys, Cameron, Emporium, Benezette, Truman, East Branch Dam, Elk River, and Hicks Run. Stay inside a well built structure and keep away from windows. Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning.
