LAWRENCE IN VERMONT THIS WATCH INCLUDES 5 COUNTIES IN CENTRAL VERMONT ADDISON IN NORTHWEST VERMONT CHITTENDEN FRANKLIN GRAND ISLE IN SOUTHERN VERMONT RUTLAND THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF ALBURGH, BEEKMANTOWN, BLOOMINGDALE, BURLINGTON, CANTON, CHASM FALLS, CONSTABLE, CROWN POINT CENTER, DUANE CENTER, GOUVERNEUR, LOON LAKE, MALONE, MASSENA, MIDDLEBURY, MINERVA, NEWCOMB, OGDENSBURG, PARADOX, PARISHVILLE, PAUL SMITHS, PLATTSBURGH, POTSDAM, RAY BROOK, RUTLAND, SCHROON LAKE, SOUTH COLTON, SOUTH HERO, ST. Heat Advisory issued July 1 at 2:24PM EDT until July 3 at 7:00PM EDT by NWS Burlington VT * WHAT...Heat index values between 95 and 104 expected. * WHERE...Portions of northern New York and most of central northern Vermont, including the Northeast Kingdom. * WHEN...Until 7 PM EDT Friday. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The highest heat index values will occur between 1 PM and 5 PM daily through Friday. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1.
