Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

Mississippi River At Natchez affecting Wilkinson, Concordia and Adams Counties. * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...Mississippi River at Natchez. * WHEN...Until Sunday, July 12. * IMPACTS...At 43.0 feet, Water covers Thornburg Lake Road in the area known as Anna's Bottom which is north of Natchez. Also, Lake Mary Road is under water. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 10:00 AM CDT Saturday the stage was 40.6 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 42.3 feet Tuesday evening. - Action stage is 38.0 feet. - Flood stage is 48.0 feet. Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks. If you encounter a flooded roadway, turn around and find an alternative route.
