For the Red River...including Wahpeton, Hickson, Fargo, Halstad, East Grand Forks, Oslo, Drayton, Pembina...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Red River of the North at Wahpeton. * WHEN...Until early Friday afternoon. * IMPACTS...At 12.0 feet, Storm sewer valves are closed and interior pumping begins (Breckenridge). * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:30 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 11.9 feet. - Bankfull stage is 10.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 8:30 PM CDT Tuesday was 11.9 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 12.0 feet just after midnight tonight. It will then fall below flood stage Thursday morning. - Flood stage is 11.0 feet. Safety message - Turn around, don't drown. Don't travel through flooded areas. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
