Overnight temperatures Monday night will struggle to get below 75 degrees. The hottest conditions are expected away from the immediate Lake Michigan shore. * WHERE...Chippewa and Mackinac counties in eastern upper Michigan, including Mackinac and Bois Blanc islands. * WHEN...From noon Monday to 8 AM EDT Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

Marine Weather Statement issued July 12 at 5:20PM EDT by NWS Gaylord MI At 518 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated a line of thunderstorms, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. These thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Brevort to 6 nm west of Beaver Island to 11 nm east of Point Detour, moving southeast at 15 knots. Those participating in the Chicago Yacht Club Race to Mackinac race should be aware of this incoming storms. Gusty winds and lightning may hit before rain begins. Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until these storms pass.
