The hottest conditions are expected away from the immediate lakeshores. * WHERE...Emmet, Cheboygan, Charlevoix, Antrim, Otsego, Crawford, Kalkaska, Grand Traverse, Leelanau, Benzie, Manistee, Wexford, Missaukee, and Roscommon counties in northern lower Michigan. * WHEN...From noon Monday to 8 AM EDT Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

Point Betsie to Sleeping Bear Point MI... At 639 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated a line of thunderstorms, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. These thunderstorms were located along a line extending from Jacksonport to 16 nm southeast of Cana Island Light to 13 nm west of South Manitou Island to near North Manitou Island, moving south at 30 knots. strong thunderstorms will be near... Sleeping Bear Point around 650 PM EDT. Empire around 700 PM EDT. Point Betsie around 715 PM EDT. Frankfort around 720 PM EDT. Arcadia around 735 PM EDT. Pierport around 745 PM EDT. Portage Lake and Williamsport around 750 PM EDT. Manistee Light around 755 PM EDT. Those participating in the Chicago Yacht Club Race to Mackinac race should be aware of these incoming storms. Gusty winds and lightning may hit before rain begins. Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until these storms pass.
