For the Heat Advisory, heat index values up to around 105 degrees expected, with locally higher values possible. * WHERE...All of southwest Indiana, and neighboring portions of southeast Illinois, northwest Kentucky, and the Pennyrile region of western Kentucky east of the Lakes. * WHEN...For the Extreme Heat Warning, until 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/ this evening. For the Heat Advisory, from 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/ this evening to 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/ Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Extreme heat and humidity will significantly increase the potential for heat related illnesses, particularly for those working or participating in outdoor activities. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...This Warning and Advisory is in effect for their respective times along and east of a line from Albion, Illinois, to Princeton, Kentucky. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances. Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When possible reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing when possible. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1.

Flash Flood Warning issued July 26 at 11:52PM CDT until July 27 at 5:45AM CDT by NWS Paducah KY FFWPAH The National Weather Service in Paducah has issued a * Flash Flood Warning for... Eastern Union County in northwestern Kentucky... * Until 545 AM CDT. * At 1152 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Morganfield, Breckinridge Center, Uniontown and Waverly. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
