Flood Watch issued June 25 at 3:16PM CDT until June 26 at 7:00AM CDT by NWS Wichita KS * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of central, east central, south central, and southeast Kansas, including the following counties, in central Kansas, Barton, Ellsworth, Lincoln, Marion, McPherson, Rice, Russell and Saline. In east central Kansas, Chase. In south central Kansas, Butler, Cowley, Harper, Harvey, Kingman, Reno, Sedgwick and Sumner. In southeast Kansas, Allen, Chautauqua, Elk, Greenwood, Labette, Montgomery, Neosho, Wilson and Woodson. * WHEN...Through Friday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Additional storms are expected to develop over southern Kansas late this afternoon and evening. These storms will produce high rainfall rates that may lead to flooding. Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Neosho River near Erie affecting Neosho County. Neosho River near Parsons affecting Neosho and Labette Counties. Neosho River near Chanute affecting Allen and Neosho Counties. Neosho River at Oswego affecting Cherokee and Labette Counties. * WHAT...Moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Neosho River near Erie. * WHEN...From Friday morning to Sunday morning. * IMPACTS...At 33.0 feet, The road 7 miles northwest of Erie at 190th Road just west of Big Creek becomes flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 2:15 PM CDT Thursday the stage was 12.9 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late tomorrow morning to a crest of 33.6 feet early tomorrow afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage Saturday evening. - Flood stage is 29.0 feet. Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Additional information is available at www.weather.gov.
