Building east swell from Hurricane Fausto expected to begin impacting all exposed east facing shores today. East shore surf will gradually increase as Fausto moves closer to Hawaii, and decline Wednesday as the system passes to the west. * WHAT...For south facing shores, 7 to 10 feet through tonight. For east facing shores of Oahu and Big Island, 10 to 14 feet through Wednesday. * WHERE...South facing shores of Kahoolawe, Kauai, Lanai, Maui, Molokai, Niihau, Oahu and the Big Island. * WHEN...Until 6 PM HST this evening for south facing shores. Until 6 PM Wednesday for east facing shores of Oahu and Big Island. * IMPACTS...Moderate. Strong breaking waves and strong currents will make swimming dangerous. Heed all advice from ocean safety officials. When in doubt, don't go out.
