Coastal waters from Fernandina Beach to St. Augustine FL out 20 NM... Coastal waters from St. Augustine to Flagler Beach FL out 20 NM... ...HEADS UP... At 1224 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. These thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 50 nm west of Amelia City to 52 nm west of Palm Valley to 25 nm northeast of Suwannee River, moving east at 30 knots. Based on current timing, this line of storms will be moving offshore of the local northeast Florida Atlantic coast between 2 pm and 4 pm, with gusts of at least 30 knots likely with storms as well as frequent lightning and low visibility in heavy rainfall. Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until these storms pass. These strong thunderstorms will likely produce winds to around 30 knots, and could pose a serious hazard for boaters. A special marine warning may eventually be required when these strong thunderstorms reaches the nearshore waters. Boaters should consider heading for shore before these strong thunderstorms arrives.

Coastal waters from Fernandina Beach to St. Augustine FL out 20 NM... * Until 300 PM EDT. * At 1255 PM EDT, strong thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 41 nm west of Amelia City to 31 nm west of Mayport to 43 nm west of Palm Valley, moving east at 30 knots. HAZARD...Wind gusts 34 knots or greater and small hail. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. * Locations impacted include... Dorothy Louise Barge, Atlantic Beach, High Point, Mayport, Nassau Sound Approach Buoy 6a, Vilano Beach, Amelia City, Buoy Cdh, South Ponte Vedra Beach, Palm Valley, Jacksonville Beach, Talbot Island, Buoy Kby, Saint Johns Lighted Buoy, Dungeness, Saint Marys Entrance Buoy 16, Cumberland Island, Whittakers Snapper Hole Reef, Guana River State Park, and Saint Augustine. Move to safe harbor until hazardous weather passes. If your vessel is caught offshore, immediately secure for heavy weather.
