Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

Special Weather Statement issued June 19 at 6:48PM EDT by NWS Miami FL At 647 PM EDT, National Weather Service meteorologists were tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Pahokee to near Rotenberger Wildlife Refuge. Movement was northeast at 10 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 45 to 55 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Belle Glade, Pahokee, South Bay, Canal Point, Belle Glade Camp, and Fremd Village-Padgett Island. These winds can down small tree limbs and branches, and blow around unsecured small objects. Seek shelter in a safe building until the storm passes. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.

Marine Weather Statement issued June 19 at 6:08PM EDT by NWS Miami FL The areas affected include... Lake Okeechobee... At 606 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. This thunderstorm was located near Lake Harbor, moving north at 5 knots. Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots and locally higher waves. Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until this storm passes.
