Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave for help.

Special Weather Statement issued July 14 at 4:46PM EDT by NWS Tallahassee FL At 442 PM EDT/342 PM CDT/, Doppler radar was tracking strong outflow winds from previous thunderstorms over the Gulf extending along a line extending from near Pensacola to 9 miles south of Destin to 31 miles southwest of Panama City Beach to 61 miles southwest of Port St. Joe. Movement was northeast at 40 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Panama City, Lynn Haven, Panama City Beach, Callaway, Vernon, Santa Rosa Beach, Port St. Joe, De Funiak Springs, Springfield, Mexico Beach, Hiland Park, Eglin Air Force Base, Tyndall Air Force Base, Live Oak, Parker, Freeport, Ebro, Oakwood Hills, Allanton, and Gulf Resort Beach. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Due to the nature of outflow winds folks should not wait to hear thunder to seek shelter.
