Special Weather Statement issued June 14 at 2:44PM AKDT by NWS Juneau AK Precipitation over the coast mountains in conjunction with warming temperatures through the weekend will contribute to an increase in river levels over the far northern inner channels of Southeast Alaska. Water levels in the Chilkat River, the Skagway River, and the Taiya River are being monitored closely for indications of river rises. Warmer than normal temperatures are expected to persist into the beginning of next week which will further contribute to rising river levels across the north. Stay tuned for additional updates.
