Special Weather Statement issued June 14 at 2:27PM AKDT by NWS Fairbanks AK A band of strong thunderstorms that stretches from the White Mountains to Chicken now will spread southwest to Fairbanks, Delta Junction and Northway later this afternoon and evening, and to the Alaska Range by late evening. The thunderstorms will have winds gusting to 30 mph, hail up to one half inch in diameter, frequent lightning and brief heavy rain. The thunderstorms should diminish by midnight.
