Red Flag Warning issued July 6 at 9:22AM AKDT until July 8 at 12:00AM AKDT by NWS Fairbanks AK The National Weather Service in Fairbanks has issued a Red Flag Warning for lightning, which is in effect from 10 AM Tuesday to midnight AKDT Tuesday night. * AFFECTED AREA...Interior Seward Peninsula and Middle Yukon Valley. * TIMING...From 10 AM Tuesday to midnight AKDT Tuesday night. * THUNDERSTORM COVERAGE INDEX... * WINDS...Northeast 5 to 10 mph. * HUMIDITY...Low 30 percent range. * TEMPERATURES...Highs in the upper 70s. Lows in the mid 40s. * IMPACTS...Critical fire weather conditions are expected due to scattered thunderstorms. Thunderstorms will come with frequent lightning and outflow boundaries. Any lightning can cause new ignitions since the fuels are dry and burnable. A Red Flag Warning means that conditions are occurring or will occur which could lead to the development of large and dangerous fires. It is directed toward fire agencies, and through them, to the public. Please advise the appropriate officials or fire crews in the field of this Red Flag Warning.
