Heavy rain risk areas The monsoon trough lies across, the North and the upper Northeast of Thailand and Laos into the low pressure cell over upper Vietnam and the Tonkin bay while the moderate southwest monsoon prevails over the upper Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf with isolated heavy rain while very heavy rain in someplaces of the North, the Central, the East and the South (West coast). People in the areas should beware of heavy rains and accumulations that may cause flash floods and overflows, especially along foothills near waterways and lowlands. The strengthening wind forces the waves in the upper Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf up to about 2 meters high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. All ships in the upper Andaman Sea should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers areas.
